ONA is a nonprofit 501(c) 4 civic organization established in 1978. We are governed by a Board of Directors who serve 3-year terms and are appointed by the ONA Nominating Committee.

Highlights of activities of a 501 (c) 4 organization include:  informing the public on controversial subjects and taking action by way of grassroots lobbying related to advocacy for its purpose/mission. 

The organization may participate in political campaigns and elections as long as their primary activity is the promotion of social welfare related to the organization’s purpose. The organization may directly or indirectly support or oppose a candidate for public office.
